“Tell Mam and Dad I’m sorry”
This episode is always in my thoughts. I must warn you that is a very deep, emotional story with some hard hitting issues.
Nicola set up the charity based group Saffe (Suicide Affect Family and Friends Everywhere) after her son took his own life. Nicola speaks out about suicide awareness, her own abusive childhood, being a young mam and finding purpose in tragedy. Struggling every day, her only motivation is to help others. She is a true advocate to what local people are doing in their communities to help others.

“Desperate in looking for the why”
Loss is something we all go through in life, but Saski’s story is unique due to generational family suicide. Always asking why and is it nature, is at the forefront of everyday thoughts for Saski. Coming to terms with such heavy burden of shame has set her on her own path of self discovery, positivity and empathy that really has to be admired.

“I'm not letting cancer take all my power away”
Sarah has been living with incurable cancer for over 9 years. Her drive for life is inspired by her own dad’s battle with cancer.
Dealing with grief whilst going through her own cancer journey, her story shows a strength and honesty that she wears on her sleeve with pride. Sarah’s talks about raising children knowing her diagnosis, pain management, and setting up her charity, Sarah’s Star, to give others in a similar position a place to talk, understand and come together and speak about the tricky subjects others may not understand.
Accepting her fate has empowered Sarah and her attitude to life. One she’s not afraid of.
