REFLECTIONS | PAUL MORT

Title

What Paul Mort taught me about owning your past and building your future.

The Story

Paul is a motivational speaker and performance coach from the North East known for his direct, no-nonsense approach to mindset and personal growth. In this conversation he reflects on his journey from addiction and self-destruction to rebuilding his life with the support of his wife and family, revealing a more personal side behind the public persona.

Opening

When Paul is in the room you know you are only going to get 100% of who he is. A full tilt energy of no bullshit. I had never met Paul but seen many of his ads on social media. An intimidating character, until you actually meet him. I was intrigued to know his past, the is what I was really wanting to discover.

What Stayed With Me

Paul loves to help people. His audience is men. His attitude and delivery is speaking in a language that I am used to from where I am from, and I know that’s not for everyone. That’s why he gets the backlash online. But, he runs at it head on. A successful guy, full of cadence and confidence, but, has family at the heart of everything he does. Treats people as equals, and gives back the respect he gets. That is an honest human being, who knows who he is. And that’s why he is good at helping people.

The Bigger Reflection

knew Paul has told his story before. A clip that went viral. But, I know he hasn’t sat in a seat and opens up to an inquisitive conversation which ended up surprising myself and I think Paul as to the emotional triggers. These triggers were of course his family. Showing a side not many may have seen with Paul I hope, this has had an impression on people. More so, the people who might connect to Paul, who may have judged him differently.

A Line I Won’t Forget

"I want my kids to see what's possible"

This is truly what Paul works so hard for. He has spoken out about spending more time at home, and is helping others to succeed and do the same. I’m sure many will benefit from Paul’s purpose on this planet, and I know his family will.

Closing Thought

Don’t judge a book by its cover. That couldn’t be more prevalent than this interview. Paul is out spoken, but, I can guarantee that you agree with him. He speaks openly how we all do behind closed doors. I just think he is successful enough to have the balls to actually do it.
