Local Heroes Partners with Brand Activations Live to Redefine the Regional Events Landscape
Local Heroes, a creative force in community-driven storytelling, is proud to announce a new partnership with Rachael Higgins and her team at Brand Activations Live (BAL).
This collaboration unites two experienced, values-led organisations with a shared mission: to deliver unforgettable, community-first experiences grounded in people, place and purpose.
Rooted in the celebration of regional food culture, particularly across the North East, Local Heroes champions the circular economy, collaboration and entrepreneurship. The Local Heroes team brings a wealth of expertise from curating successful local food markets to leading international trade expos, ensuring every event is rich in authenticity, provenance, and a strong sense of place.
Both Local Heroes and BAL have a proven track record in delivering impactful B2B and B2C events. Their combined attention to detail, creative flair, thoughtful curation, and operational excellence uniquely positions them to lead a new wave of cultural programming centered on local identity and community engagement.
This month Local Heroes and BAL worked together to deliver The Gaderung, a one-day event at Ad Gefrin in Wooler, Northumberland that celebrated the Anglo-Saxon season of Lammas (harvest) through a modern-day harvest festival which showcased Northumbria’s rich food heritage and culture through an artisan market, street food, live music, demonstrations and storytelling.
Looking ahead, Local Heroes and BAL will co-develop bespoke event concepts for local communities and jointly pursue larger-scale event contracts and food festivals. Their shared goal is to raise the bar for culturally relevant, community-inclusive, and economically impactful events.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Rachael and the Brand Activations team into this important chapter,” says Chris Jewitt, co-founder of Local Heroes. “Their operational expertise is a perfect match for our values-led approach — an approach that supports local supply chains, champions entrepreneurship, and stimulates the regional economy. Together, we’ll scale thoughtfully, always guided by purpose.”
“Partnering with Local Heroes was a natural step,” says Rachael Higgins, Business Development Director at Brand Activations Live. “Their dedication to people-first, place-conscious programming mirrors our own. We’re excited to help bring their bold vision to life — grounded in local relevance but delivered with world-class precision.”
With several flagship concepts already in development, this partnership is poised to set a new standard - where creativity, community, and conscience meet.
