Stories of South Shields Campaign

Local Heroes is collecting stories and food memories from residents and visitors of South Shields for an exciting project that celebrates the unique food, cultural and heritage identity of South Shields, as well as raising the profile of the Market Square, Ocean Road and Coast area as a destination for tourism, by connecting the restaurants, heritage sites, and attractions into a worthwhile and enriching visitor experience.

This project is part of the Destination Development Partnership (DDP) Pilot, a government-funded initiative for the North East of England, designed to boost the regional visitor economy and support sustainable growth.
